| 内容記述 | Among Milton’s works, political pamphlets in prose written during the Puritan Revolution have not been appreciated as literary works and have not been discussed in relation to Milton's other literary works. This study examines "Observation Upon the Articles of Peace with the Irish Rebels" to explore how Milton viewed the concepts of "civilization" and "savageness," as well as considering the historical context in which it was written and the relationship between England and Ireland. Additionally, this paper discusses the relevance of "Observation" to Milton's other poems concerning the themes of "civilization and savageness." | |||||||||
