| 内容記述 | In these days, there is a growing awareness of the importance of preserving and maintaining the traditional streetscape. In addition, there is a movement to utilize not only the buildings and surrounding environment but also the lifestyles of the inhabitants. Gujo Hachiman is a successful case of pioneering community development that carries on water culture without using the cultural property system. The purpose of this study is to create a useful resource for future community development by examining the waterway network, water systems and water facilities, and community development. Gujo Hachiman has inherited a townscape that makes the most of its topography, climate, and nature. It was found that this has helped inhabitants develop a sense of pride in their community and a sense of self-preservation. This awareness has led to the active participation of inhabitants in community development, which has formed the "Water City" to the present day. On the other hand, the future challenge will be to pass on water culture due to the aging of the population. | |||||||||||||
