However, according to excellent studies from the perspective of skill and career formation in the workplace, human resource management and labor-management relations practices with an awareness of job and skill formation have existed in Japan. Conversely, in the West, the \"Job Description\" is not so clear as commonly believed, and at least white collar’s salary is not necessarily paid according to a job, but rather according to a salary grade system with a pay range.
