Therefore, we investigated the effects of non-digestible peptides from soybean on the gut microbiota. The effect of non-digestible peptides on the growth of the 51 most prevalent bacteria in the human gut commensal microbiota was analysed in culture, and found that non-digestible peptides inhibited the growth of nine of the 11 Bacteroides species tested.
