| 内容記述 | This study aimed to examine the relationship between sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) and school adjustment among junior high school students. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 238 students in junior high school, using the SPS scale, and questions about school adjustment and autism spectrum tendencies. The analysis showed that there was little relationship between SPS tendency and school adjustment, but the higher the SPS tendency, the stronger the reluctance to go to school and the stronger the tendency toward autistic spectrum disorder. The HSP group with a high tendency for SPS, excluding those judged to tend to autistic spectrum disorder, was significantly higher than the non-HSP group in terms of “overall school adjustment” and school absenteeism. The association between SPS tendencies and a sense of school adjustment is low, and it does not mean that people with hypersensitivity feel that they are not doing well in school. However, the strong reluctance to go to school may indicate some adjustment problems in school life, so it may be necessary to provide support and consideration for students with sensory sensitivity in their school life. | |||||||||
