While Chinese real retailers are working on modernization by introducing retail formats and other styles, their further progress has been blocked by trading practices. Furthermore,they face homogenization phenomena among retailers, an increase in store rents and higher labor costs. As a result, their in-house business environments are getting worse. Under these circumstances, they are forced to change for survive. The key player in that change is e-commerce.
