| 内容記述 | [Abstract] This study investigates the effect of the payoff structure on subjects’ behaviors in a situation where informational cascades can occur. Specifically,we use “the gain treatment” where subjects are rewarded for the correct prediction and “the loss treatment” where subjects are penalized for the incorrect prediction for several amounts of payoffs. We observed that subjects’predictions are not always consistent with Bayesian posterior probabilities.Among non-Bayesian predictions,subjects put more weight on private signals than on the predecessors’predictions. In addition，subjects tend to make more Bayesian predictions in the loss treatment than in the gain treatment. Furthermore，subjects make more Bayesian predictions for the larger amount of reward/penalty，whereas they make more non-Bayesian predictions for the smaller amount of reward/penalty. These results indicate that payoff structures influence subjects’predictions in various ways in informational cascades. | |||||||||
