This system has been characterized by retail chain store operation. In Japan’s high growth era, the major manufacturers constructed Keiretsu distribution system by organizing small retailers, in parallel with the development of general merchandising stores. After the era the electronic big stores have dominated the market. As these stores are operated in corporate chain system, the voluntary chain operation has not been outstanding. But in these years, the voluntary chain system operated by Cosmos Berry’s Inc. has attracted attention, because more than 10,000 small retailers have joined this system.This paper carries out a case study of Cosmos Berry’s.
