| 内容記述 | [Abstract] Traditionally, the functions of Present Perfect in school grammar in Japan are considered as follows: continuative, completive, experiential, and resultative. However, this notion seemed different in the U.S., which led the author to investigate how Present Perfect is presented in various reference books both in Japan and overseas, and popular textbooks used in junior and senior high schools in Japan. It is found the functions of Present Perfect are presented differently to suit the audience and the instructors are advised to critically investigate even common sense grammatical points and adjust the content to teach, which will help the learners to better understand the grammatical points. | |||||||||
