 note = {研究成果の概要（和文）：　本研究の目的は、人口減少化社会を迎えた日本における被規制企業のコストマネジメントに関する実証研究を行うことであった。この目的を達成するために、英国、スペイン、およびオーストラリアの現地調査を行った。また、米国とインドネシアから研究者を招聘し、勉強会を開催した。これらの調査結果をもとに、まず日本の水道事業のデータを使用した市町村合併が技術効率性に与えた影響に関する実証分析を行い、推計の結果、合併の効果の存在を明らかにした。次に、日本の損害保険業における範囲の経済性に関する実証分析を行い、推計の結果、範囲の経済性が存在し、特に労働節約的な技術進歩ならびに物件費利用的な技術進歩が確認された。
研究成果の概要（英文）：The purpose of this project was to do empirical study on cost management of regulated industry in population decreasing japanese society. To analyze this, we conducted field survey in the United Kingdom, Spain and Australia as well as conducted semi-structured interview with academiciaaans in these countries. In addition, we also invited researchers from the United States and Indonesia and discussed with them. Based on these survey results, we conducted empirical analysis on the impact of municipal mergers in the technical efficiency by using database of Japanese water industry. As a result of the estimation, the effect of the merger was revealed.
