 note = {研究成果の概要（和文）：昨今グローバル化に対応できる高い英語力が求められるが、その獲得は容易ではない。一つの解決策として、本研究では、ESPが拠り所とするジャンルの概念を利用した方法を調査・検証した。研究方法として、（１）日本で日英翻訳を学ぶ英語力の高い社会人の翻訳データを分析し、（２）米国で通訳・翻訳を学ぶ社会人経験を持つ大学院生を対象に面接調査を行った。その結果、提案した方法は第二言語をプロフェッショナルとして磨くのに有効であることを示唆した。
研究成果の概要（英文）：Acquiring English language skills to cope with the globalization of communication is a challenging endeavor. As one possible solution, we conducted research on how the application of a genre-based approach, an underlying concept of English for Specific Purposes (ESP), might help English language learners refine their language skills. For the research, we analyzed Japanese-to-English translation data from translation trainees studying at an English-language school in Japan and interviews with U.S. graduate school students majoring in interpretation and translation.
