| 内容記述 | [Synopsis] There has been increased recognition on the importance of quantifying the effects of cyclic irrigation and identifying management options in detail to improve the effectiveness. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of the cyclic irrigation to recommend appropriate control methods. The study site is a paddy area of about 50ha in the Asagoi District, Oumihatiman city in Shiga Prefecture. Drainage water from the farmland flows to the Nishinoko. In this site, Biwa Lake water is used for irrigation by pumping and distributed through pipelines. The cyclic irrigation scheme takes part of drainage water and re-distributes to the farmland of 16ha. High T-N and T-P concentrations in the drainage were observed during the land preparation period and after fertilizer applications. The relationship between cyclic irrigation ratio and concentrations of T-N and T-P in the drainage is analyzed, indicating T-N and T-P concentrations were lower when the cyclic irrigation ratio is high. The average net loadings of T-N and T-P were negative. In comparison between land preparation and irrigation period, T-N and T-P loadings are lower during the land preparation period, while cyclic irrigation ratio is higher during the normal irrigation period. Those results indicate that the cyclic irrigation has a greater effect in reducing drainage loadings during the land preparation period. | |||||||||||||||||||||
