On the other, dried tubers of this plant use to folk medicine for treatment of female disorder. There is a large amount of sesquiterpene in this tuber and these sesquiterpenes affect to surround plant called allelopathy. In this time, we have evaluated that these allelochemicals effect on soil habitat springtail by choice test. The ketone fraction from purple nutsedge extract have shown repellency against springtail. The isolation of pure natural compounds produced by purple nutsedge has performed by silica gel column chromatography from hexane extract of folk medicine (Ko-bushi). Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, cyperene and β-selinene, sesquiterpene ketones, α-cyperone and cyperotundone were isolated and 2 sesquiterpene ketones have shown strong springtail repellency. Several derivatives and structural different compounds have prepared for structure activity relationship (SAR) study. The reduction of α, β-unsaturated ketone moiety has disappeared the biological activity drastically. Similarly, structural different a, /3-unsaturated ketones have shown strong springtail repellency. These results suggest that α, β-unsaturated ketone moiety is very important for appearance of this biological activity in this bioassay., application/pdf}, pages = {67--70}, title = {香附子由来成分とその誘導体のトビムシ忌避活性}, year = {2006}, yomi = {モリモト, マサノリ and ナカガワ, マサフミ and スギハラ, タダシ and コマイ, コウイチロウ} }
