| 内容記述 | [Abstract] It is assumed that Japanese language teachers who carry out language education using songs expect, or have experienced, positive results from using such materials or programs. Previous research has also shown that using music language education has merit. Oxford (1990) mentions that music is one method of lowering anxiety within affective strategies. According to Mogi (2008), neurons within the brain are activated while enjoying music. Those neurons are in the same portion of the brain which manages the instinctual drive required for humans to live. If these details of research are considered comprehensively; music affects man's physiology, feeling, memory, etc. Thus we can expect the merits of music language education, such as improving memory and making learning activities pleasant, to be abundant. The thoughts and views of teachers, based on the investigation conducted of teachers in Japan and overseas, who carry out lessons using music teaching materials, are considered in this paper. According to the results, teachers believed that music had a relaxing effect on students and other helped them remember the material more ready (i. e. improved memory). | |||||||||
