| 内容記述 | A new holographic optical element (HOE) for optical fiber communication systems has been proposed. The HOE is formed during irradiation light from an optical fiber and a laser diode (LD). An optical coupling system from an LD to a single mode fiber is composed without aligning the fiber. The cost of the LD module will be drastically reduced because there is no fiber alignment process. It has been shown that the spot size of the LD can be converted into that of the fiber by the HOE. The influence of movement in a fiber fixing process can be also neglected because the optical coupling system is formed after the fiber fixing process. Owing to high-output optical fiber amplifiers and the development of organic dye for optical disks such CD-R and DVD-R, a possibility for such a new HOE comes out. The manufacturing process of the HOE has been also described in this paper. | |||||||||
