内容記述 | [Abstract] A holographic optical element (HOE) for fiber coupling to a laser diode (LD) has been investigated. The HOE is formed during irradiation light from an optical fiber and an LD. An optical coupling system from an LD to a single mode fiber is composed without aligning the fiber. The cost of the LD module which is equipped with the optical coupling system will be drastically reduced because there is no fiber alignment process. However, the optical coupling efficiency from the LD to the fiber using the HOE was very low. We have shown improvement methods for optical coupling efficiency in this paper. It has been shown that the optical coupling efficiency can be improved by means of threshold characteristic of the exposure. Furthermore, influences of the LD wavelength fluctuation have been also shown. As for the manufacture of the HOE, I have found promising organic dyes for the HOE. The organic dyes have absorption spectra in the wavelength of 1.55 μm. It has also shown that the organic dyes could be processed in the shape of a film by using high polymer resin. | |||||||||
