内容記述 | [Abstract] In order to improve learners' listening competence, information communicative teaching was adopted. The characteristic of the method is to let learners engage in activities which focus on the transmission of information. In this paper, the procedures are introduced, and the learners' responses are analyzed. As to the utility of the method, their responses were generally positive. In Japan, the acquisition of language through reading seems to be normal, but it is also true that we acquire language through listening. In this method, learners are exposed to English sounds first and later to the written text. This order of presenting the text will have possible effectiveness. As another merit, this method is rather easy for Japanese teachers to adopt in their classes, because special techniques are not required even for the teachers who are accustomed to grammar-translation methods and because this method is effective in large classes. | |||||||||
