【Abstract】 The embarkation of European mercantile powers to Asian trading area in early modern times brought the power shift from Asia,  which had been at the center of civilization and global economy since B.C. times,  to Europe. This paper shows the mercantile activities of local merchants in Gujarat region of western India,  one of the trading center of Asian trade sphere in early modern times,  and the relationship in their commercial transaction with European mercantile powers.
