Under such circumstances, people have come to pay attention to the safety of farm products that come from abroad and about which there is little information. On the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) considered in January 2003 that a terrorist might try to pollute the food supply, and considered intentional food contamination to be \"a realistic current menace.\" It requested various countries to more closely monitor terrorism. However, bioterrorism has not yet occurred in Japan. Therefore, we will take up mainly the contamination problem of Chinese-produced food that has been brought into question in Japan, and examine the points of concern and the possibility of bioterrorism occurring.
