| 内容記述 | [概要] 日本航空の経営破綻に伴い, 経営再建策の一つとして, 日本航空が国際線から撤退し, 全日空1社体制が政府内で検討されているとの報道があった。本稿では, わが国の大手航空会社の費用関数をTranslog型で推計し, 費用面から見た国内線と国際線の兼営効果を検証した。そして, 全日空と日本航空においては, 国内線と国際線サービスの間に範囲の経済性が存在することが確認された。費用構造以外にも多くの要素があるため, この範囲の経済性の存在が直ちに日本航空の国際線撤退を否定するわけではないが, 少なくとも現在の全日空と日本航空には, 国内線と国際線の兼営による費用節約効果があると考えられる。 [Abstract] This study estimates the translog cost function of the airlines in Japan to test the economies of scope between domestic and international service. We found that there were economies of scope in All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines. We could say that providing both domestic and international service would bring cost saving effects for the airlines. |
