内容記述 | [Abstract] In this paper, there are following two purposes. First purpose is to analyze the trend concerning correlation between preschools (nursery schools and kindergartens)and elementary schools (“HOYOUSHO”) in Japan through an overview the current of the history of Japanese educational and childcare systems. Second purpose is to consider the points at the issue about the correlation for illustrating prospects for the future research. Today, it is hotly discussed how children can realize pursuit of smooth transitions from preschools to elementary schools. Although it's not pointed out very much, this topic is not a new one. It has already discussed by a main advocate of preschool education of Japan in those days, for example Souzou Kurahashi, in the old educational institution before the end of World War Ⅱ . Now, we have to take these discussions of the period into account andinherit the raised issues to solve the problems, for example “the First-grade problem in elementary schools” in our time. In the last part of this paper, I present at some matters and take them into consideration. First, it is the matter from an institutional point of view, concerning to reconsider thestarting age at elementary schools or foundation of infant school and others. Second, it is the matter from a sociological point of view, concerning the question what the differences are between preschools and elementary schools. Third, it is the matter from methodological point of view, the question how integrate the uniqueness with the continuity of preschools and elementary schools. It is desirable to research this topic by various approaches. Further consideration will be needed. | |||||||||
