[Abstract]Three silver(I) coordination polymers, [Ag_2(tphb)(C_4F_8(COO)_2)(THF)]_n (1, tphb = 1, 2, 4, 5-tetrakis(phenylsulfanyl)-benzene), {[Ag_6(hphb)_2(C_4F_8(COO)_2)_3(THF)_6](THF)_2}_n (2, hphb = hexakis(phenylsulfanyl)benzene) and {[Ag_2(ophn)-(C_6F_12(COO)_2)](THF)_2}_n (3, ophn = octakis(phenylsulfanyl)naphthalene) have been prepared and their molecular structures determined by X-ray crystallography. In 1, tphb plays a role as an intra-molecular linker in [C_4F_8(COOAg)_2]_n, the coordination polymer forming a linear structure having a double chain. In 2, hphb acts as an inter-molecular linker between linear chain consisting of silver ion and perfluorodicarboxylic acid, which together form a two dimensional sheet structure. On the other hand, in 3, ophn molecules function as inter-molecular linkers, similar to complex 2; however, 3 has a three dimensional structure due to the distorted naphthalene ring of ophn. In addition, the structure of complex 3 is porous and shows absorption-desorption behavior for a guest molecule (THF) in the cavity. |
