The radish was grown in the culture solution made up of pure water or in the solution containing ions. During the germination period (25~30h) from seed in the culture solution of pH6~4, the concentration of hydrogen ion shifted to ca.pH6.5 with the passage of time, and the concentration of potassium ion and other ions increased. On the other hand, in the growing period (ca. 1 week), radish absorbed ions such as potassium and liberated hydrogen ion. Though there was no pH of the culture solution on large change for germination and growth at 6-4, it was observed that the growth was deteriorated, when pH of the culture solution consisted under 3.8. In addition, the germination was not produced in pH 3.0. As a result of also examining the alfalfa of the bean family, the fact of radish equal to the case. In the culture solution adjusted in pH6~4, calcium and magnesium were continuously released in the period of germination and growth in radish. However, strontium, barium and beryllium were reversely absorbed to radish.
