In the present study, we biochemically re-evaluate the property of GFP-tubulin expressed in cells. When expressed in mammalian cells, antibodies against GFP or the amino-terminal region of tubulin detected GFP-tubulin in western blot analyses. By contrast, antibodies against the carboxyl terminal region of tubulin failed to recognize exogenous GFP-tubulin, but not endogenous tubulin.
