Although research has been started,  it has not been plentiful and the field continues to struggle with a pervasive lack of good instrumentation by which to measure self-efficacy. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the assessment of writing self-efficacy within the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL).
