 note = {[概要] 本稿では, 古典派経済学普及に尽力したジェイン・マーセットの経済学に関する二作目の教本『経済学に対するジョン・ホプキンズの見解』に関して, その物語形式と設定のあり方,および作品が露呈する支配者階級優越のイデオロギーを, 作品の詳細を分析しながら考察している。 労働者階級の啓蒙を目的に, 特にマルサスの人口論を浸透させる目的で書かれた本作品は,娯楽的な読み物として親しめるための数々の配慮が, 物語という形式の採択, および労働者を主要登場人物にすえた物語設定に見られる。 しかし一方で, 教本内で登場人物たちが徐々に知識を獲得するプロセスを検討すれば, それが支配者階級にとって都合の良い思想を読者層に浸透させようとしていることが明白で, マーセットの保守性を感じさせる内容になっている。     [Abstract] This paper is about Jane Marcet's John Hopkins's Notions on Political Economy (1833), which was aimed at the laboring classes. The work consists of fairy tales and stories placing John Hopkins, a poor laborer, as the main character. The entertaining story-settings and forms must have contributed to the readers' acquiring the relatively hard theories of classical economists, such as Thomas Malthus. On the other hand, the ideology exposed in the stories supports the ruling class, to which Marcet herself belonged to.},
