| 内容記述 | [要約] 本稿はプロスポーツ・リーグにおけるリーグ全体の利潤と競争バランスのトレード・オフを分析する。具体的には, リーグ全体の利潤が最大となるのは競争バランスが大きく偏っている場合であることが示される。 さらに, 競争バランスを改善する収益分配方法として相対評価に基づいたものを分析しているが, それはチーム間の経済格差を拡大するようなものである。 [Abstract] This paper studies the tradeoff between maximization of total league profits and improvement of the competitive balance in professional sports leagues. Specifically, it is shown that the total league profits are maximized when there is a great competitive imbalance in the league. This paper also studies revenue sharing arrangements based on relative performance evaluation that improves the competitive balance, but widens revenue differentials among teams. |
