 note = {開港当時の横浜の発展を支えた横浜商人の一人に甲州屋篠原忠右衛門がいた。彼は, 甲州出身という地の利を生かし, 生糸などの産地直買付を行い, 「売込商」として活躍し, 急成長を遂げ, 国許甲州への大量な書簡を残した。そこで本論では, この書簡の分析を通し, 当時の通信・輸送の実態に迫ろうと試みた。その結果, 通信についてはある程度の成果を挙げ得たが, しかし輸送については, 史料的限界から横浜への輸送経路さえ確定できなかった。そこで更に甲信からの輸送経路として大きな比重を持った甲州道中について多角的な考察と分析を試み, 横浜への商品輸送の実態の解明に努めた。　（英文）　This article examines the actual state of communications and transports at this time, through the analysis of these letters. Although some results could be achieved regarding these communications, the identification of the transport routes was impossible due to the lack of documents.
