| 内容記述 | 本稿ではカネボウを例に挙げて、経営多角化の展開によって成長させ得た化粧品事業の変遷を見ている。カネボウは、同事業の始動・育成の過程で、策定された戦略に合わせて、分離と再編入を繰り返した。やがて、化粧品事業は中核事業に成長し、カネボウ本体、グループでの牽引役となった。その一方でカネボウの経営は不調で、有利子負債は膨張した。経営の再建に取り掛かるが、同事業を売却しその返済資金に充てるか、または同事業を稼ぎ頭として温存し業績回復を目指すか、という判断に迫られた。カネボウは、化粧品事業が再建に必要不可欠な事業と判断し、産業再生機構の支援を得、グループに残し、立て直すことを判断した。しかし、粉飾決算が明るみに出て、再建の方法を変更することとなった。その後紆余曲折を経て、花王の傘下に収まった。 （英文） Kanebo Ltd, a textile maker, expanded its businesses, cosmetics, foods, medicine, and so on. In this paper the diversification of Kanebo, Ltd. is considered and the history of cosmetic business is detailed. Kanebo made many plans in order to expanded their business. Kanebo sucsessed in making the department of cosmetics its main part in its group, but turn total business result to unfavorable. Soon Kanebo became debtor company. Kanebo have to choose to sell cosmetics business to other company, or to keep this business in hand as an earning much money business. Industrial Revitalzatin Corporation of Japan decided that Kanebo should be restructured. At first time Cosmetics business remained in Kanebo group. But an illegal report on the closing was brought to light, IRCJ changed the plan to sell all businesses and finally Kao Corporation, a soap maker, took over this business. | |||||||||
