In results, only in the reaction in which the total DNA from the mammoth's bone marrow was used as the template of PCR, the 221bp DNA fragment was amplified. However, when we tried to amplify longer DNA fragment( about 500bp in length) of Mc1r gene, no DNAfragment was amplified by PCR even when the total DNA from the mammoth's bone marrow was used as the template of PCR.
