stem : ES）細胞は、体を構成するほぼすべての細胞へ分化することができる細胞である。そのため、ES細胞は再生医療の細胞移植材料として研究されてきた。細胞移植モデル動物は、飼育しやすく外科手術が容易で生理学的にヒトに近いことが求められる。そこで、ウサギは中型動物で大人しく室内飼育が可能なことから広くヒトモデル動物として研究に利用されてきた。さらに、マウスよりも体が大きく外科手術や術後の経過の観察も容易であることから、間葉系幹細胞を用いた目の角膜再生実験や骨形成促進実験、さらに軟骨細胞を用いた気管狭窄改善実験や関節軟骨再生実験などでヒトモデル動物として用いられてきた。これらのことから、ウサギES 細胞の樹立が可能となれば有用な細胞移植におけるヒトモデル動物及びシステムの構築になると期待できる。本実験ではウサギ卵子細胞質内精子注入法（Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection : ICSI）により得られた胚からのES 細胞の樹立を試みた。樹立は、透明帯と栄養外胚葉を除去し内部細胞塊（Inner cell mass :ICM）をフィーダー細胞上へ播種し培養を行った。その結果、ES細胞様の初期コロニーが出現し未分化な遺伝子マーカーの発現も観察された。このことから、交配卵と同様に顕微受精胚からもES 細胞が樹立可能であることが示された。以上の事から、これらのES
