<dc:description>[Abstract] Comparison and change of the observation time in eight animals by the zoo visitors were investigated in Fukuoka City Zoo from 2012 to 2019. In all years, the average observation time in the Japanese monkey is the longest, and subsequentlly those in the giraffe, the otter, the elephant and the penguins were long. The average observation time in the lion and the leopard tended to be shorter, and that in the fox & raccoon dog was the shortest. It was suggested from the behavior of zoo visitors that the variety of behavior, livingness of animals and spatial easiness in observation influenced the length of observation time. Although the significant changes between years in the Japanese monkey and the elephant were seen, there were no significant changes of observation time in other animals. In the leopard, observation time might get longer by an event such as the baby birth, but the influence to observation time by the behavioral exhibition was not seen so as to have expected it. To enjoy a zoo by observing animals slowly and carefully, the cooperation of zoo and visitors will be necessary with each ingenuties of them.</dc:description>
