<dc:description>[Abstract] When the size of crystalline materials becomes smaller than the critical one which is named "magic size", the periodicity of atomic arrays is loosed so that the material behavior is remarkably changed. The magic size is determined by not only the long range interaction force, which is a function of the bonding mode and the binding force, among constitutive atoms but also the surrounding conditions of the atom clusters. The magic size is closely related to the general rules for the solid amorphization and the crystal nucleation, and the size effect on the behavior of atom clusters is discussed by the lip-shape model.</dc:description>
