(i) Epithelial-mesenchymal transition results in the accumulation of bone marrow-derived myeloid suppressor cells (MDSC) within the tumour and tumour immunosuppression in ovarian cancer. (ii) Intratumoural heterogeneity in ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma is associated with poor prognosis. (iii) Resistance to anti-VEGF antibody treatment in ovarian cancer was due to hypoxia-induced accumulation of MDSC.
