功利主義へのリアクション (2) ―経済理論との交錯 ― Reactions to Utilitarianism (2): Intersections with Economic Theory 中井, 大介 Nakai, Daisuke 34419 近畿大学 Kindai University 功利主義 概念史 経済思想 utilitarianism conceptual history economic thought 〔要旨〕経済学は功利主義と密接な関係を持つと見なされる一方で，経済学者自身は必ずしも功利主義への支持を積極的に表明してきたわけではないことも事実である。本論では，「功利主義」，「功利主義者／功利主義的」の用例を軸としながら，経済学者たちの功利主義に対するリアクションに注目する。第２節では，功利主義を積極的に掲げながら効用理論の形成などに寄与した，ジェヴォンズ，シジウィック，エッジワースらの言説をとりあげる。第３節では，功利主義を掲げることに慎重であった，マーシャル，ピグー，ケインズの議論に照準を合わせる。経済理論との交錯を通じた功利主義の概念形成をたどることで，功利主義の特徴を明確に浮かび上がらせることにしたい。 While economics is considered to be closely related to utilitarianism, economists themselves have not always expressed their support for utilitarianism. Here we explore the usage of "utilitarianism / utilitarian" and examine economists' reactions to utilitarianism. In section 2, we examine the discourse of Jevons, Sidgwick, and Edgeworth, who advocated utilitarianism while contributing to the formation of utility theory. In section 3, we focus on Marshall, Pigou, and Keynes, who were cautious about advocating utilitarianism.
