          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">Some solid state materials are deteriorated by several factors such as oxygen, heat, water, light, radiation and so on. These deteriorations may cause the unexpected disasters. Therefore, it is important that reaction rates and heats of deterioration for solid state materials are investigated. In this report, some heat flux curves of oxidation of biocoke (BIC) were measured from 298.15 to 338.15 K by using micro-calorimeter, and then these curves were fitted by first order reaction rate equation, P = Ae-kt + P0. Primarily, the lifespans of biocoke were estimated from fitted heat flux curves. Secondly, an activated energy of biocoke was determined from reaction rate coefficients that were estimated from these heat flux curves. These results will be reported in detail.</datacite:description>
