The first effective strategy is that, if only we can catch the interrogatives of wh—questions, we can answer many questions in this part of the test. The second is that all responses which begin with \"Yes\" or \"No\" to wh—questions are distractors. When TOEIC beginners use these two strategies, their correct answer rate in this part reaches almost half of their target. The last, but most effective, strategy is that responses which include words which are phonetically—related to \"content words\" in each question sentence, have a 90 percent probability of being \"tricky\" distractors.
